Our actors have done it all! From performing dare devil stunts on their own to waxing their hairy chests and legs and dress in women attire, they go all out to please their fans. The upcoming Sajid Khan flick, Humshakals has all three lead actors- Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor in drag. On that note, here’s a list of actors who went out of their way and confidently got in touch with their feminine side…
Shahid Kapoor
Shahid’s film with ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, Milenge Milenge (2010) saw him in drag. The actor sported a pink top and a denim skirt in the beginning of the movie. Even a muscular Sasha looked sensual we must say.
Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan seduced us with his feminine avatar in Baazi (1995). Mr. Perfectionist essayed the role of a cabaret dancer and actor had to wax his chest and arms for the role He also had to fit into a gaudy red dress for the song Dole Dole Dil. He was even seen as Mannu Bhabhi for a cola commercial.
Riteish Deshmukh
Funnyman Riteish Deshmukh is truly a drag queen. He was first seen dressed as a woman in Apna Sapna Money Money (2006). He slips into drag to con people in the film and the actor was praised for his comic timing. He will also be seen in drag in Humshakals. Apparently in Humshakals he is wearing wife’s Genelia D’souza’s skirt. In order to play a woman he had to wax his arms, legs and chest. We can’t wait to see this one.
Shah Rukh Khan
The King Khan was seen in female attires in two of his films, Trimurti (1995) and Duplicate (1998). Is there anything SRK can’t do?
Salman Khan
Salman Khan lost his macho-man look for a scene in Jaan-e-Mann (2006). The actor looked hilarious in a pink dress with his waxed body. Salman’s drag act added masala to the film but the film bombed at the box office.
Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar was seen in drag in Khiladi (1992) along with Deepak Tijori. Both actors were fabulous and the drag act made us laugh hard. The movie went on to become a huge hit.
Ajay Devgn
The Rohit Shetty hit masala film Golmaal Returns (2008) saw not just one but all four lead actors- Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Arshad Warsi dressed as women. The movie was an explosion of laughter as all four actors rocked their roles. While Ajay Devgn tried his best to look feminine with his physique, Tusshar Kapoor looked sexy in a red Kimino and Shreyas Talpade looked perfect in a salwaar kameez.
Govinda
Govinda donned a sari in two of his films, Raja Babu (1994) and Aunty No 1 (1998). Govinda’s drag avatars were the talk of town back then and are remembered even today.
Kamal Hasaan
Kamal Hasaan’s role in Chachi 420 (1997) has to be one of the most iconic roles of a man in drag in Bollywood history. In most parts of the movie the actor is seen dressed as a Maharashtrian nanny. The movie was a remake of the Hollywood film Mrs. Doubtfire and the veteran actor played the role with élan.
Sharman Joshi
Nobody can beat Sharman Joshi when it comes to dressing as a woman. The actor was first seen in Style (2001) where he and Sahil Khan dressed in mini skirts to woo girls they liked.
