[Original Story Follows] - A Dead Rising remake has been rumored for quite a while now, but it hasn't appeared at any showcases or been mentioned at all, which has led to the suspicion from many that it might not be real at all. With Summer Game Fest fast approaching, people are wondering if it may appear here as a final gasp for the series.
Will The Dead Rising Remake be at Summer Game Fest?
It feels unlikely that a Dead Rising Remake shows up at Summer Game Fest for a couple of different reasons. The first is that we already know there's a Capcom showcase coming up early next week, and since Dead Rising is a Capcom franchise, it'd make a lot of sense for the game to show up here if it ends up being a multiplatform release.
The other reason is that Dead Rising was originally an Xbox-exclusive franchise. It'd make a whole lot of sense if Xbox wanted to tie down a remake to their systems, and as such it'd likely make an appearance not at Summer Game Fest, but at the upcoming Xbox Bethesda showcase.
Our main source for a potential Dead Rising remake is known Windows Central leaker Jez Corden, who has stated that he's heard rumblings that the franchise might be returning. There's nothing concrete so far, however.
