Elliot Page (formerly Ellen Page) is a Canadian film and television actor. He starred as “Maggie Maclean” in the CBC series ‘Pit Pony’, and as “Kitty Pryde” in the X-Men film series. His credit includes Hard Candy (2005), Juno (2007), Whip It (2009), and Inception (2010). He hosted the Viceland series Gaycation from 2016 to 2017. Page was born on February 21, 1987, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. His mother, Martha Philpotts, is a teacher, and his father, Dennis, a graphic designer. Page attended the Halifax Grammar School and graduated from the Shambhala School in 2005. He studied alongside future actor Mark Rendall at Vaughan Road Academy.

CAREER
Page made his acting debut as “Maggie Maclean” in the TV film Pit Pony (1997). He reprised the role in the spin-off series which ran from 1999 to 2000. Page followed up with a recurring role as “Treena Lahey” in Mike Clattenburg’s Trailer Park Boys (2001-02). His U.S. television debut was the TV film Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story (2003). Page won the 2004 Gemini Award for best-supporting actor for the series ‘ReGenesis’. He starred as “Hayley Stark” in the psychological thriller Hard Candy (2005). His next big role was as “Kitty Pryde / Shadowcat” in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). The film was directed by Brett Ratner and also stars Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and Ian McKellen. He returned as Kitty Pryde in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).

Page starred as a pregnant teen named “Juno MacGuff” opposite Michael Cera in the comedy-drama Juno (2007). That role earned him nominations for an Academy Award and Golden Globe for best actor. He later starred as “Vanessa Wetherhold” in Smart People (2008) and as “Bliss Cavendar/Babe Ruthless” in Whip It (2009). His film credits also include Super (2010) with Rainn Wilson, and Inception (2010) with Leonardo DiCaprio. Page lent his voice to the 2013 PlayStation video game ‘Beyond: Two Souls’. He’s done voice work for the animated film My Life as a Courgette (2016), and for the series ‘Glenn Martin DDS’, ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Family Guy’. He served as an executive producer and host of the Viceland documentary series Gaycation (2016-17).

Page came out as gay in February 2014. On November 10, 2017, Page alleged that filmmaker Brett Ratner outed him as gay on the set of X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). He was 18 at the time. Page married dancer Emma Portner in 2018. The two separated in 2020 and their divorce was finalized in 2021. Page came out as transgender in December 2020.
